Yes, we offer in-person sessions. We understand the value of face-to-face interaction and the privacy it affords, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many clients find that in-person sessions enhance their therapeutic experience by providing a dedicated, private space to explore their emotions and experiences without the distractions of everyday life.

Sessions with our Associate Therapists range from $165 to $175 per session.
Sessions with our Licensed Therapists range from $200 to $225 per session.
Sessions with our Clinical Director are $300 per session.

We also reserve a limited number of sliding-scale spaces to make therapy more accessible. If cost is a concern, please reach out. We will do our best to connect you with a therapist whose rate and availability fit your needs.

Yes, if you have out-of-network (OON) benefits on a PPO plan.

We do not accept insurance directly. However, we can provide you with a superbill, which is a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Clients seeing licensed clinicians can also use Thrizer to streamline the reimbursement process. Clients seeing licensed clinicians or associate therapists can submit superbills directly to their insurance company for potential reimbursement.

We recommend checking with your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network benefits and coverage for mental health services. If you have any questions about the superbill or the reimbursement process, please feel free to contact us.

If you would like to know how much your insurance will reimburse, please call the number on the back of your card to ask. Make sure to get the answers to these questions so you are not misinformed:

• What is the reimbursement rate for CPT code 90837 (individual therapy, 52–60 minutes)? They will give you a percentage, such as 50%.

• What is the “allowable” for that CPT code? The allowable is the dollar amount your insurance has decided the service is worth.

Example: If they reimburse 50% and their allowable is $100, they will send you $50 for every $150 session.

No, we do not accept HMO plans. HMO plans do not cover out-of-network services and are not accepted at California Depth Therapy.

*Please be aware that using a superbill means that you will have a diagnosis on your insurance, which may or may not have consequences in the future for you.

Depth therapy with kids and teens involves exploring underlying emotional and psychological issues that may be affecting their behavior, mood, and overall well-being. Our approach is tailored to the developmental stage of the child or adolescent, using age-appropriate techniques such as play therapy, art therapy, and talk therapy. We create a safe and supportive environment where young clients can express their thoughts and feelings, helping them gain insight into their inner world. There is no rigid agenda or scripted questionnaire. After a quick review of your intake forms, we’ll invite you to tell your story: what brings you here, how long you’ve felt this way, and how you imagine therapy helping. You’re welcome to ask any questions, and we’ll explain our depth-oriented approach, rooted in curiosity and presence. We won’t be jotting down notes in a way that distracts us; we’ll absorb what you share, honor the uniqueness of your journey, and begin collaborating on a path forward that feels true to your story.

The duration of therapy varies for each individual, depending on the complexity of the issues being addressed. While some clients may find relief in a few months, others may benefit from longer-term therapy to work through deeper or more persistent issues. Our approach is to tailor the therapy to your unique needs, ensuring that you receive the support and guidance necessary for meaningful and lasting change. Together, we will regularly assess your progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed to help you achieve your therapeutic goals.

The mutual protection of the clinical hour(s) is extremely important; We at California Depth Therapy strongly believe that continuity, momentum, and rhythm are vital to therapeutic work and deep change. It is best for us to find workable time for both of us that is consistent week to week; this time is set aside exclusively for you.

Appointment cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment will be charged the full agreed upon fee for the session. The only exceptions to the 48-hour cancellation are reserved for true emergencies or sudden illness of you or someone you care for that could not have been predicted prior to 24-hour notice. If you are feeling unwell, the session will be held virtually rather than canceled, unless a true emergency prevents attendance. If a session is missed, a make-up session can be attempted for that same week, however, cannot be guaranteed. You are not charged for the sessions when the therapist is unavailable because of a preplanned absence or illness.

If you do not show up for a scheduled appointment (that you have not called to cancel) you will be charged the full fee for the session.
